Cover Reveal: The Wicked Witch of Whatever AND New Contest!
Promotions , Uncategorized / September 20, 2016

Yes, it’s that time. Another cover has reared its not-so-ugly head and is ready to be revealed to the world. I give you The Wicked Witch of Whatever. This YA paranormal/ urban fantasy (still trying to figure out that exact niche) is set at Cawdor High School for the (Magical) Arts. I don’t have a blurb yet. Are you nuts? I’m still rewriting. What if I rewrite something that gives me the perfect blurb? All you need to know is that Macbeth meets Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead meets me. And maybe a heavy dose of teen pop culture thrown in for seasoning. The Wicked Witch of Whatever is slated to be released on Halloween, which is my favorite holiday of the year. When else can I get away with dressing like one of my own characters without someone questioning my sanity? In honor of its release, I’m throwing a little picture party. Dress up like your favorite INDIE character for Halloween, snap a photo, and send it to me. Seven lucky winners will win an ebook copy of The Wicked Witch of Whatever. Three lucky winners will get to have a character named after them in an upcoming book….

Captured! and a Challenge/ Contest
Promotions / June 7, 2016

Shh. Read quietly. The Conductor caught me yesterday and has determined that I have derailed my Life Plan, so I’m under a directive to do no blogging until I either write 50k over my three WIPs or finish one of them. Bah. Like I’ve ever listened to The Conductor. However, this does mean my normal blogging schedule has been disrupted. Also, I’d like her to go away, so I need to get the 50k written. I thought I would turn to you, my adoring blogging public (stop laughing) for inspiration. Here’s the deal: I have to write 50k mucho fasto (or “very fast” for those who don’t speak Figment Spanglish). You have some goal you need to reach. We can cheer (or jeer) each other on. Post a reply in the comments about the challenge you are going to accomplish between June 15th and July 15th. It can be a daily thing (write 1k a day), a weekly thing (finish one short story a week), or something for the full 30 days (write 50k– copycat!). It doesn’t even have to be writing, since I want my non-writing readers to get involved too. Want to get in shape? Challenge yourself to…

CONTEST GIVEAWAY: Free ebook, maybe paperback too
Promotions / May 27, 2016

I’ve decided I need more book reviews. Apparently, they’re a useful thing. So, here’s the deal. Send me a message. Tell me which book you want: Veneri Verbum, The Annals of Bobian, or Beta Beware. Tell me if you want PDF, ePub, or MOBI. If you already own all three, bless your little heart, you can pass it on if you win. You can reply here, send me email at, hit me up on Facebook, or DM me on Twitter (zanzibar7writer). I’ll pick a winner or two or three, depending on my mood. Might do a paperback, also depending on my mood. In exchange, I just ask for an honest review. Brutal is acceptable, but funny is better. Just review. Want more entries? Share, then show me that you shared. One more entry for every share. Share anywhere and everywhere. Invite others to share. Then share the sharing. Sharing is caring. Thanks!
